If a user sends an e-mail and it takes about 8 hours to reach its destiny, what can be the problem?

This sound very much like a relay host not understand where to go. As salserocito suggested check the GWIA setting but you can also look at the mslocal\mshold from the GWIA server to see if there are message files queuing up waiting to go out. Worth checking the MTA as well.
