Hi all,
Just wondering if anyone here has any experience in incorporating components into IE6 Builds using the Internet explorer administration kit?

I have an application which runs in the browser providing a fully featured GUI to the end user. When the user first runs the app IIS offers some signed browser components for the user to install so the app runs in the browser window.

I decided to try a custom build of IE with the ieak which would incorporate these components and install them as part of the desktop build so saving the user the hassle of having to accept the download of the components. I added the components to my package and when i build the PC with this ie package i can actually see the components listing as installed during the process.

When i run the app later on the components download from the server as though they were never in the original package! Anyone have any ideas on why they're getting ignored!? Some security parameter maybe?

Thanks All.

Did you sign the components?
Most end-user settings would ignore un-signed DLLs and Active-X objects.

If DLLs did you take the step to register them?

Yup Components are signed, so not sure what's going on..
