Hi,

My most recent update session installed IE9 for me (thanks MS [flame])

Now it keeps flashing up some kind of Status Bar thing at the bottom of the Browser window. What is it called, and how can I turn this off?

Install Firefox ;)

Honestly Ive had issues with 9 working correctly with Excel 2010 and Adobe 10. I personally uninstalled the IE9 update and will wait to reinstall until all the bugs are caught.

P.S. To uninstall a Windows up date yo will have to go to Control Panel/Programs and Features and on the left click on "View installed updates"

Is it in relation to downloading files, or perhaps cleaning out Temporary Internet Files, or a warning about a web page, those are the only times I see a message box at the bottom of the IE 9 page?

Perhaps you can link us to an image of what you are seeing? That would make your problem clearer to us.

Thanks for your help guys,

I've done a bit more research, and found the following:

1. It's called the Notification Bar;
2. I'm not the only person who is annoyed by it; and
3. There is no way to disable it.

Oh well, Uninstall here I come, and back to FF < sigh > [smile]
