IE8 Question

Greetings,

I am running a Dell Laptop with WXP SP3 installed. I recently upgraded(?) to IE8 from IE7. I am having some problems. Several sites I visit use cookies to remember my data and where I am at. Since upgrading to IE8, there are times the cookies get lost. Sometimes, it even happens when I am moving from page to page on the same site after logging on and going through many pages. One site logs me on but forgets all the rest of the data in the cookies. I have tried the normal IE8 setting as well as the compatibility setting with the same results.

One other think I have noticed at one site that has a lot of photos on it. I like to open a page of photos and then repetitively open each photo on a page by itself so I can save it. In IE7, once I established the folder to save the pictures in, Windows remembered it until I changed it. Under IE8, it seems like the folder offered is a random event. Even after establishing a folder, the subsequent save dialog may or may not be the folder that was just used.

Four questions;

1. Is the file save dialog problem a common issue? Any way to fix it?

2. Any help on the web site behavior?

3. Would removing IE8 and reinstalling it fix anything?

4. Can IE8 be removed and IE7 installed?

Thanks for your help!
