I couldn’t find the appropriate group for this question, so I ask it here:

I have Internet Explorer 8 installed, and if I see on Tek-Tips.com some code:
Code:
If Something Or Other Then
    Do some stuff
End If
I could highlight it, copy, but if I paste it it looks like this:
Code:
If Something Or Other Then Do some stuffEnd If
Where are the hard returns?
Am I missing some settings in IE8?

Have fun.

Hi Andy,
My copy and paste always works that exact same way.
I have had to manually format the pasted text, which is a pain for longer code sections.

If at first you don't succeed, then sky diving wasn't meant for you!

I asked this question because with the previous versions of IE (I think it was version 6) I did not have this problem. Copy and Paste worked like a dream, no messing with the code was necessary.

Have fun.

Andy - To bring back the crlfs in the copy you need to click the 'compatability view' button in Explorer 8 and 9.

Thank you, HughLerwill.

That did it: Tools - Compatability View, and now the check indicates it is on, and copy/paste works like a dream :)

Have fun.

guitarzan,

Sorry. Company policy - use IE or else...
And I like the place where I work, so 'else' is not an option.

Have fun.
