Im testing ie8 beta, seems ok for now, except...
When I open any new instance, I get 2 tabs, my home page and the page to the IE8 Beta page. Any ideas on how to stop this?
this page -

Side note: I find it very silly theres a button for ie7 emulation, wish vista had that button :) Any thoughts on that?

Well, I just seem to have done it somewhat unintentionally while trying to see where it was coming from. I'm not sure where it was coming from originally, but here's what I just did:

Open a single instance of IE8 and observe the 2 tabs (one of which is the one linked above).
Then I clicked the drop-down arrow to the right of the home icon on the command bar, and picked 'add or change homepage'. By the time that I'd clicked that, I decided that I wanted to look in Internet options first, to see if multiple home pages were listed; so in the 'add or change homepage' dialog, I chose "no" to not change anything. Then went looking in Internet Options and found only the 1 normal homepage listed. I closed IE & restarted it, and got only 1 tab. My guess is that somehow entering the 'add homepage area' (even though I chose no), was enough to set the 1 homepage that I had set. My guess is that if I had reset my homepage again (to what it normally is), that that would also work.

Go to tools > internet options and delete the reference to microsoft in the home page box. Apparently you can open more than one tab when you start up just list them in the box. (never tried this in IE7)

The answer is "42"

yuppers, theres 2 homepages listed...
got rid of the ie8 page, just my real homepage comes up now.

This is to help make the browser standards compliant. It is now ACID2 compliant, but I believe it still fails ACID3. However, so do most other browsers (in fact I belive i.e 8 was better than Firefox, although this may of now changed)

As it's a Beta, it's not suprising it failed, especially as Acdi3 is pretty new.

Only the truly stupid believe they know everything.

yah i should remember it is beta. So overall no worries.
With ie8 I am getting some formatting troubles with SharePoint, ie7 emulation fixes it.
