On Internet Explorer 7 - when you right click on a link you should see an option to 'open in new tab'.

I just upgraded to ie7 on this PC and that option is missing. Tabs are working and I use, say Ctrl+Click to open a link in a new tab.

Any ideas anyone as to how I can fix this - I would rather use a right click than have to use the keyboard as well as the mouse.

some websites do not respond to the right click - open in tab option

you might try to click on the little red X in the upper right corner of the tool bar and then try to open another page in the tab option

I solved it myself - thanks. T'was the Google Toolbar

Solution.
Uninstall & re-install the Google Toolbar (from Google - not a saved version)

As far as I am concerned this is the Google toolbars last chance. Don't get me wrong - I like it. It is a useful add-on for me. BUT........

I hate the way it auto updates without asking.
I am getting fed up with the way it has been screwing up Internet explorer lately. (It was causing ie to crash - not play videos and the Google toolbar wasn't working properly either a few weeks ago when Google released a new version and updated my toolbar - without permission!)

Now - if someone has a way of stopping it auto updating I would appreciate knowing how. Stopping the google updater process doesn't seem to work.

BTW - I don't know why this worked - I just figured that since the Google toolbar had been the cause of the last two woes I had with Internet explorer it might be the cause of this one too. It seems to me that having the Google bar installed when you upgrade Internet explorer is a complication to many!

So my advice is to uninstall it before accepting the upgrade to ie7.
