ie7 only works in safe mode

anyone see this before ?

current xp os with latest ms updates,

ran MS windows Defender, MS malicious software removal tool, avg anti spy, and avg anit virus..

can ping sites by name via cmd prompt.

firefox also does not work..

re-installed firefox. still ng

If it works in safe mode i think something is loading during regular startup, msconfig to find the problem

It gives more details than Windows Task Manager & might be a help in ferretting out your problem. Have you checked in Device Manager to see if there any conflicts? Check event log as well. Have you tried System Restore or installed any new apps to your system? Sorry for more ????'s than solutions but working in the dark with data given.

Look at things like Disk Cleanup, to clear out your Temporary Internet Files, and also other Temp files.
