IE7 First Page loads very slowly

IE7 with XP Pro w/sp3. IE7 loads fine with home page as blank. The problem is with the first page load. Regardless of the site the first site loads very slowly. After that it runs normally. Opera and Firefox run without this problem.

I have disabled Windows Defender, AVG and still the same. I have also run IE7 without add ons and the same problem.

I have a 3.1 processor and 2g of ram so that is not an issue.

Why not switch your default browser to be Firefox? It may not fix the IE 7 problem, but at least it would be far less painful to deal with all the time.
