is IE7 CSS Compliant?

I'm looking for a pop-out menu and nearly every link I visit from google I'm finding their CSS menu doesn't work in IE7.

And the reason i'm looking for a new menu is because the one I have which worked fine in IE6, FF & Opera doesn't work in IE7, i'm starting to see a trend here, is anyone else experiencing this?

here is a link example

i am running IE7 Final & the pop/drop downs work for me.

are you saying the link I posted the pop out menus work fine?

I'm confused I have the final release of IE7 and they don't for me , why is my copy doing this?

Eric's website works fine for me. check your settings in IE maybe you have something set that should not be.

hmm very odd, when I hover over the menu, the drop down appears, but it disappears as i try to move down over the sub menu options, it also does the same for the right hand menu options.

What browser settings might they be? i've not changed anything.

you are correct in not being able to get to the sub-menus. IE does not fully support CSS2.

Definitely happens for me too. I can't get to any of the other menu items (vertical or horizontal flyouts).

lol - so the long anticipated wait for IE7 was a waste of time as it still doesn't support CSS2 properly, yet behaves differently to IE6. Just what us developers need :)

Certainly seems that way for some things. And as I have pointed out in other posts about ie7, it's amazingly annoying that they don't provide a way to have both versions of IE installed on a single machine. Luckily I have a standalone version of ie6 to test pages on along side ie7.

well done MS you've done it again, well at least they're consistent

Whereas the dropdowns on the site I posted a link to work fine in IE7.

This may be because it is using the IE only javascript snippet I call from within an IE conditional comment.

I'll see if I can do some testing later - I'll try to mirror the demo menu on Meyerweb

i am in the process of changing my old website from Frames based to CSS and am also getting away from dropdowns (just because i think it is smoother for visitors).

i have been playing with FF & IE7 using one of the CSS demos from Meyerweb.

one problem i am having is rendering the Asian fonts correctly.

if any are interested in checking it out shoot me an email @ c4i@chriswoodgroup.com & i will send you a link to the page

no no no don't post your email address on TT!

As for the CSS menu, I've managed to create a fully functional CSS Menu (obviously needs the suckerfish JS for IE6) with the help of this forum, which works also in IE7 , but am having problems getting FF and Opera to work the same way.

I'm finding IE7 hasn't solved anything, all it's done is thrown another browser into the mix making things worse!

Thanks....now I wonder how many other scripts/styles I have floating around that won't continue working...at least the largest one I give out to people is still in one piece.
