HI, Is anyone else having this problem?
I am trying to run Adobe Acrobat Reader 8.0 on an XP pro SP2 fully up to date with updates, in Internet Explorer 7.
When I try to launch a .pdf file, Reader 8.0 launches and almost immediately an error window pops up as follows:
------------------------------------------------------
" Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library.
Runtime Error!
Program: C;\Program files\Adobe\Reader8.0 \Reader\AcroRd32.exe
This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.
Please contact application support team for information."
--------------------------------------------------------
I have the same problem on 4 computers, all XP SP2 + IE7,
some new, clean installs, some just kept fully updated,
I have un-installed and re-downloaded several times to no avail.(I choose NOT to download Google Toolbar as part of the install).

All thoughts appreciated, many thanks.

I'm not sure what will happen, but try running IE7 in no add-ons mode. Adodbe Reader shouldn't be able to open inside IE7. Hopefully, it will try to open seperately outside of IE and maybe this will give a clue.

Sorry, I thought it was using the IE7 as a shell, but on further tries, it is in its own Adobe Reader shell.
I will try to find an Adobe Forum.
Many Thanks.
