When I click on a link in IE6 that brings up a link in ~self or ~parent it works fine. But when the link is directed to display in a child window or a new window the window comes up but nothing happens. If it's a new window I can click on stop and refresh and it works, so the address is being recieved. But in a child window the toolbar and menubar are seldom displayed so that option is not there. I have uninstalled and reinstalled IE6 to no avail. I have fiddled with "Reuse windows for shortcuts" in Options/Advanced. Does anybody have any idea what is happening?

[2thumbsup] Thanks nobrain, that really was a nobrainer. I should have searched first. Problem solved, albeit with difficulty.
