We are currently experiencing an issue with a business load at our company. They rely on a specific program to look into a knowledgebase for answers to common problems. On a Windows XP SP1 machine, we do not experience any problems. On a Windows XP SP2 Fresh load, we do not experience any problems. The problem only exists when the machine is upgraded from Windows XP SP1 to Windows XP SP2. Here is the following problem:
After installing the upgrade to SP2, the department that uses this program will attempt to pull up their knowledgebase and it will not load up the page properly and it will give an error on the lower left corner of the status bar. The results of the error is Access Denied. However, if you right click in the individual frames of the webpage and select refresh off of the right-click menu, the page will load up with no problems.
Using the refresh button on the browser toolbar will cause it to produce the same error as well as using F5 and CTRL+F5 too. It will only work properly when doing a right-click refresh. So far we have checked into some difference found in the registry dealing with IE caching methods between the working SP1 machine and the non-working upgraded SP2 machine. We adapted the changes found in the SP1 machine into the upgraded SP2 machines registry and retried to produce the same problem. The problem still exists and we are curious to know why this is happening.
We also checked all the the security options and advanced options between the SP1 machine and upgraded SP2 machine and they were the same. If any of you might know why this is happening or would like to help us resolve this issue, please respond.
This is for a well-known worldwide company so we are looking to resolve this issue ASAP. Thanks for any help that you guys provide.
