IE6 / Win XP - some graphics not showing, css does not process

I have Win XP Pro SP1, IE6 SP1. Not all graphics (gif, jpg) are showing. Sometimes the css file does not process and fonts do not show correctly. Refesh will fix css but not all graphics. Show Picture will display the graphic.

Not running Norton Firewall or Zone Alarm. Am running Kerio Personal Firewall. Turn off firewall & still get problem. Running McAfee VirusScan. Turn off VS & still get problem. Jpg & gif extensions are associated with IE. Links>Toggle Images does not help. Encoding set to Western European (Windows).

Maybe a buffer or timing problem with IE?

Netscape 7.0 and Opera works OK.
