IE
Wondering if someone could help.

Users currently using IE6 on client side to view olap cube of data which was published under Crystal Enterprise 10 by Crystal Analysis 10. The difficulty arises when users go to search particular data in the member selector and drill down. Takes approx 6 minutes for the search button to come back - iexplore.exe is at 100% cpu for this period so there is significant payload on client pc. This happens everytime user querys a search. Have tried different pc's and on console itself however no difference in time - still 6 mins. Have tried different viewers on CE10 server however again no joy. When i perform the same procedure through Firefox it takes less than one minute to complete which seems bizarre. This is a fix, however i don't really want to be left with task of replacing all client browsers to firefox instead of IE6. Business Objects stating i go back to microsoft regarding IE6 which is not really a runner.

If anyone could shed some light on above i would appreciate it.

Hummm....

Can you recreate this problem in CA designer? (client tool).

FF is generally faster than IE anyhow. I guess it's either a caching thing or the way the XML is parsed. What happens if you repeat the search, faster?

Ironically FF is not a supported browser, I've had more problems than advantages using it with CE/BOE.

Problem does not exist in CA designer i.e. results are returned at acceptable level within 1 minute.

If i repeat the search within IE it still takes the same length of time to return results so nothing appears to be cached

FF does seem alot faster - i am probably left with no alternative but to go with it. If I need to raise support call in the future I can just switch back to IE and try and simulate my problem
