IE6 with XP Pro is giving me a fit. I continuously get the “IE6 with XP Pro is giving me a fit. I continuously get the “The page cannot be displayed” error. An example is Yahoo games. I can access the Yahoo game home page but when I click on ANY of the game links all I get is the “The page cannot be displayed” page.
Not sure when it stopped working or what I did (tweaking is bound to be the root cause).
I have already clear temps, cookies, ran spc, lowered security settings, checked and unchecked various setting boxes (JIT, VM, detect connection etc.), search tons of XP forums, even tried 8 different restore points.
Any help would be appreciated

I found a fix to my aforementioned problem. The problem is that the pages I was tring to reach were being redirected.

To fix search for hosts*.*, open the host file using Word Pad. Find the host file that contains the web address you are tring to reach (it will contain the unwanted advertising web pages such as Double Click), delete the unwanted web addresses, close and save file changes, restart Internet Explorer, and BAM your back in business.
