I have read over and over in documentation that I am supposed to find IE6-Sms.sms in the SMS Resource Kit but I can't find the SMS Resource Kit anywhere for download. Does anyone know where I can get this Resource Kit (I have read that it has something to do with the Backoffice Resource Kit 4.5???). I really don't care about the Resource kit if someone has just the file. Thanks

The Reskit is out of print. You may be able to find used copies for sale from some of Amazon.com's merchants, but you really don't want to use the .sms file for distributing Internet Explorer. Jump out to Microsoft's Internet Explorer site and download the Internet Explorer Administration Kit (IEAK). This has all the tools you need to distribute IE.

I am also trying to find this file. I tried to use the IEAK kit to distribute but 98% of my users don't have local admin rights, I can't find in the kit where to grant local rights during install. SMS can do that. I know that probably didn't help you out any.

here's the content of the file just create one yourself and name it IE6-Sms.sms

How is the IESMSWRAP.MIF file created? Our package specialist developed an IE 6.0 SP1 package using the IEAK 6.0 SP1 and then I (SMS Admin) created an SMS package to deploy it with admin rights. I manually (using GUI) created the package. I DID NOT use a package definition file (.pdf or .sms)to create the SMS package. I specified on the 'Reporting' tab for the package properties to look for IE6SP1.MIF. When we tested the package it looked for IE6SP1.MIF and after the reboot (when IE6SP1.MIF was deleted from the C:\WINNT\TEMP directory, SMS looked for IESMSWRAP.MIF.

How is this IESMSWRAP.MIF being generated on the workstation if I didn't tell SMS anything about it. I wasn't even aware of IESMSWRAP.MIF before it appeared on the workstation and in the SMSAPM32.LOG files.
