IE6 run time error

running ie6 sp1 with latest updates from ms.
when opening most pages an error appeared. most noted is ebay which i have never had a problem with before.
error-
a runtime error has ocurred
do you wish to debug

error:document.shortcut.search is null or not an object.

this error is from ebay page but the details vary but the error is always runtime.

1) Are you running a pop-up blocker?
If so, try disabling it and see if errors persist.

2) Have you run thorough spyware scans?

3) Finally, you can "tell" IE to ignore these errors:
-Open Internet Explorer.
-Click on Tools, then on Internet Options.
-Click on the Advanced tab.
-Look for the "Disable script debugging" line and put a check mark in the box.
-Look for the "Display a notification about every script error" line and remove the check mark in the box.
