IE6 problem - page only loads after hitting refresh

Whenever I try to load a website I get a "Page cannot be displayed error" ..... "Cannot find server or DNS Error" as soon as I've entered my firewall username and password. If I then hit the refresh button the page loads fine.

Any ideas why this increasingly annoying bug occurs?

Only the first page I attempt to access after opening a new IE window.

All the time on the 1st page after opening IE window.

Running IE6 on WXP Pro

Click on refresh reloads page, however title bar often stays as "Cannot find server..."

Exact same problem, IE6 on win 2000, every machine that accesses the web through a proxy server.

same here, LAN settings point to proxy server. Prob did not occur until started using IE6.

I'm sure that SP1 is in place, right?
Have you tried running through this yet?

Also, verify that under Tools, Internet Options, Advanced (scroll to Security)...the USE TLS 1.0 box is UNchecked. Both SSL boxes should be checked.

Try this..

Start>Run type in regsvr32.exe urlmon.dll (copy and paste is you wish) and press <enter>

Wait for the confirmation dialogue..
