IE6 Problem, need help

Apologies in advance as this is a long post, but if someone is going to help me thay need the data, right? I really hope you can help. The background is that I want to install a programme called Replay Radio to record streaming audio. The programme looks spot on for what I want to do, but causes problems with my IE.

I have copied below my email to the company detailing the difficulties, and their reply.

Hi there

I need some help.

Since installing the demo version of Replay Radio prior to purchasing, I am
unable to run Internet Explorer.

When I start it up I just get the egg timer, and the message Detecting Proxy
Settings . . . . in the bottom left hand corner. Nothing happens and when I
close the programme with the X in the top right hand corner I get the \"This
programme is not responding . . . . . .\" message.

Outlook Express continues to work fine, as does Opera 6.04, from where I am
sending this message.

If I uninstall Replay Radio, then everything works fine.

My operating system is Windows XP Home and I connect to the internet via a broadband cable modem, and the connection has always been
perfect since installation about 2 years ago.

The LAN connection is set as \"Automatically detect settings\"

I hope you can sort this out for me as I am looking forward to using Replay
Radio to play radio recordings on my new Pocket PC.

Hi Peter -

Replay Radio doesn't do anything to IE's proxy settings.

I suggest downloading and installing IE again. Whatever happened to your
system in the interim should be fixed by a reinstall.

Well I must be thick but I can’t find where on msn I can reload IE, pleanty of patches but not the full thing.

As people seem to be able to provide lots of info using Hijack, I took Hijack logs before and after this last install of Replay Radio V4, they don't mean much to me, but I'm sure there is someone out there who understands them, I would also appreciate any advice on any junk they show that I may have accumulated.

Well you know what's causing your problem, you load this software, it affects something. You uninstall it, it goes away. You're on the right track, let these people know you want to buy their software, but this is holding you up, and hopefully that will speed up the process. I wouldn't do too much to your system to troubleshoot this, their software is obviously causing the issue, let them fix it.
