I have installed in my machine (Win2K SP3), Internet Explorer IE 6 SP1.
I upgraded from IE5.5, and now i'm having problems visiting some sites, IE reports javascript errors (library not registered).
If i uninstall IE6 back to IE5.5 all works fine.
This problem normally happens in sites with javascript code, for instance in i can't see their menu.

Does this happened to anyone else, some help will be appreciated.

Regards
Jorge

Put a checkmark in the Tools/InternetOptions/Advanced tab...Disable script debugging...should go away.

I have the same problem. Everyone else in the department has < IE6. Some drop down menus, like the ones on my intranet page are somewhat unreadable.
Put a checkmark in the Tools/InternetOptions/Advanced tab...Disable script debugging...should go away.<--Does not work. I did get it to be normal for about a day, I'm not sure what I did though. I tried to reset all defaults everywhere I could find. But the next day it started(not from restart though) again out of nowhere it seemed. Any other suggestions? Thanks.

There has to be a reghack for it then...
and here it is from MSMVP Kelley ((NOTE it may not work for everyone...and of course the usual warnings about "if you mess this up yer computer dies")):
[[Start/Run/Regedit

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main

Create a new string value, or modify the existing value, named "Disable Script Debugger" and set it to either "yes" to disable the debugger or "no" to enable it.

Restart Internet Explorer for the change to take effect.]]]

Do this machine have Visual Studio on it?
Could be a problem with your runtime library...here's the fix for that:

If that doesn't work, you can try to disable the mdm.exe, the machine debug manager exec...and here's that link:

The problem does seem persistent...from another post on the subject:
[[This most likely has to do with ActiveX scripts. You can fiddle manually with the ActiveX scripting controls to your liking, or simply choose low for your security settings. Also, in advanced, click disable script debugging. This all may not be safe or recommended, but if you have the same frustrations I had, you would do exactly as I did. When I had IE 4.01 as my desktop browser, I got those same annoying messages when I would for instance, go into my computer and click the C: drive. ]]
Hope any of this helps...
