IE6 IntraNet Word Documents

We are using:

Windows 2000
IE 6
Word XP

Opening a Word document via the IntraNet there are no issues. When the client clicks on 'Back', IE prompts for User Authenication. This issue does not occur with Excel, PowerPoint or PDF files.
