IE6, IE7, and Firefox open very slowly

IE 7 opens very slowly. Part of the tool bar at the top comes up right away with a blank white screen and then just over two minutes later the google home page appears. Once it's open I can surf okay but if another page is opened I get the same issue with the new page. I had the same issue with IE6 which is why I installed IE7. Firefox also has the same problem. I do not have the same problem opening other programs such as MS Word or AutoCad.

Any Ideas?

Use a blank page as home page
Disable ad-ons
Remove toolbars.

In IE: Tools>Internet Options>Connections>Lan Settings>Uncheck "Automatically Detect Settings" under the auto-config section?

This could affect Firefox as well...

By the by, how are you using IE6 & 7? Stand-alone version?

I deleted all of my add ons and that fixed the problem.

I was using IE6 and switched to IE7 in an endeavor to fix my problem I switched to IE7.
