ie6 hangs when doing searches on any search engine

Going to web addresses works - Clicking on links on search engine pages works - Trying to do a search on any search engine page just hangs it - IE6 - Windows 98

Please Help!!!

At the top of the browser, go into Tools, then Internet Options, click on the Advanced tab at the top right, find and UNCHECK 'Enable third party browser extensions', click OK, *restart* the PC, and try again.
