I use Windows XP, 384MB RAM, and Norton Utilities 2002. (Intel PIII 500 as CPU)... all this is meaningless because occasionally IE6 open in the background will run the CPU usage up to a constant 100%.
Sometimes MS Money 2001 will too while being the only thing open. Closing these MS apps that seem to have a glitch brings the CPU usage down to 4%. I thought it was a page I was on when IE6 was doing it, but now MS Money 2001 is too.
Why does my CPU run to 100% sometimes when MS apps are open in XP?
Also on another note, I use IE6 to download large ZIP files (600MB+) and when I get 2 going, my C drive optimization drops from 95% to 40% and free RAM goes from 250+ to 20 and less. How do I tell IE6 not to download to memory, but to my drive straight?
Thanks for the many questions, it's just these two things are pesky and I can't figure it out,
Vikram
