I am unable to permanently change the default home page. When I go through the recommended sequence of TOOLS : INTERNET OPTIONS : GENERAL : Type in URL location: OK the home page typed in will remain as long as the Internet connection is on. When I turn on the computer after shut down, the old home page automatically appears. How do I permanently change to the home page I want and not have some other home page that I do not want appear when the computer is turned on?
Also, I have tried the following sequence of events, but it too did not fully work. In following the instructions when the computer was restarted the correct home page appeared automatically. However the next time the computer was shut down, then the next time the computer was again turned on, the incorrect home page appeared.
START : SETTINGS : CONTROL PANEL : ADD/REMOVE PROGRAMS : MICROSOFT INTERNET EXPLORER 6 & INTERNET TOOLS : ADD/REMOVE : REPAIR INTERNET EXPLORER : OK
Thank you very much for your help. It is very much appreciated.
