ie6 cannot find server, need to refresh

I have many xp pro computers with ie6 sp1 on them and we login to a squid proxy server to access the internet. Everythings goes good, click on the internet login and then it does not display the page, stating it cannot find server. I will use the refresh button and the page appears and no other problems after that. Why do the first page come up cannot find server? Is there a fix. I've been looking all over for a fix. I have tried changing settings, etc. Some say that this is a SP1 bug. Any ideas,,,

I would appreciate some info on this, Thanks! NR
