IE6 Cannot download files

I cannot seem to download any files using ie6, whenever I click on a file link, such as an exe or zip nothing happens. It works in Netscape but I really don't want to be using that.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Run repair on your IE. Go to Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs, highlight IE, hit Add/Remove, select Repair IE from the list of three options.
