IE6 auto run zip downloads-no prompt

Ok, been looking at this one a while, and I am sure its gonna be so obvious that I look like a noob, but here goes anyway..

System with IE6 and all the latest patches. suddenly it no longer prompts me for an action when I click a link to download a zip file; it just chooses "run". so instead of prompting me as to what to do, it downloads and opens the zip filein winzip.

How can I reset IE so it prompts me again?

I have tried resetting web settings, and that didnt help.
 
Open Windows Explorer (not IE)... Tools, Folder Options, File Types tab, scroll down & select ZIP, Advanced button, check the box for 'Confirm open after download'.
