I installed kidproof on my Win98SE machine. It failed to work properly so I uninstalled it with its uninstall program. Since then IE6 has behaved strangely. I can surf pretty well but when I check my Yahoo mail account, I can log-in OK, view inbox OK, but when I try to view a mail item IE hangs with the thermometer slowly ticking off and never loading the message.
Note that IE is not wedged - if I click on STOP and then click on <Yahoo> I can surf to the main page.
I tried accessing my Yahoo account from another PC and it is fine so I know it is not a Yahoo problem.
The only observation I have is that I seem to be able to browse to short URL's but Yahoo mail message use very long URL's (maybe 80-100 characters).
I tried re-installing IE6, tried IE6 repair, tried re-registering a handful of files (urlmon.dll, mshtml.dll, actxprxy.dll, oleaut32.dll, shdocvw.dll, msvbvm60.dll, olepro32.dll) all to no avail. I am at wits end with this one!
Any suggestions?
Regards,
Ken
