This problem with IE started after installing a new video card to support dual monitors. (I don't see how that could be related, but that's when it started...)
Normally my IE6 windows show the HTML title (contained in the <title>HTML TITLE</title> tags) in the title bar. For some reason, they started showing the URL instead.
Since I have several browser windows open at once, my task bar buttons all read " and I can't tell them apart the way I normally would by reading the first few characters of the page's HTML title. If I refresh the browser, the HTML title is restored in the title bar.
I haven't been able to determine what specific event (such as locking the PC, or minimizing the window) causes the HTML title to be lost, but I've restored them several times in a day and they keep reverting to the URL title. It might even be a time related issue.
This little problem is very frustrating for me, so if there's anyone out there who can solve it, I'd be eternally grateful.
Thanks!
