My Internet Explorer 6.0 is not deleting temporary files on exit. I have checked tools-internet options-advanced-security-empty temporary files when browser is closed. I notice that the temp files come from and us.i1.yimg.com even though I did not visit those websites. I also noticed a lot of network (computer to computer) traffic even though there was no communication between browser and internet. I also may get a message to the effect "do you want to display unsecured pages?". I run Process Explorer and I see while the network traffic is going on that Windows Explorer is doing something. My computer is on a dial-up modem.

Follow up. I got those files form a secure bigfoot website even though I used IE solely to log on to this Tek-Tips site. I also got them even though I didn't open IE but launched Ad-Aware to get its updates. Process Explorer showed MSbugAdv.exe activity when network traffic was taking place.

Follow up: I am connected to the internet via dial-up, my ISP is AT&T and I am on one of their 150 hours/month plan. Is the network traffic I am seeing just the ads they are bombarding me with? But then I see the same thing when I connect a laptop to the LAN at the local library (I don't know who their ISP is): files from and sometimes from us.i1.yimg.com.

Follow up: It seems I had a worm. A google search on MSbugAdv.exe lead me to bitdefender.com which provided information on the worm and instructions for its removal.
I hope this resolves my problem.
