IE5 virus warnings when opening VB6 EXE's

I have written a VB6 application to display MPG's through Windows Mediaplayer. This has been converted to EXE.
I'm using a constructed WEB Page from Word to Hyperlink to the EXE file.Is there a way or method to circumvent the warnings that come up. (ie... may contain viruses, open or download)??
