IE5.5 class error

I have just upgraded to IE5.5 and have come across this problem. Any site that uses the window.open command to open a pop-up, throws up the following error:

error in line ###
class not registered

Can anyone tell me how to fix this?

It's most likely a problem with the Microsoft Virtual Java Machine installation. Check out How to Troubleshoot Java Problems in Internet Explorer
