In IE 4.0 the css property width does not work right for inline stuff (ummm what does inline mean?), anyway in anything higher than IE it works fine. If i make a link whos text is only 30 px wide, but define it's width as 100px, when i click within 35 pixels on either side, the link will become active. in IE4 this doesn't work. Does anyone know how to make this work without putting in a dozen spaces?

Many times, I'll put the link in a table cell, and give the table cell this:

style="cursor:hand" onClick="location='somePage.asp';"

So that the whole cell becomes a clickable link -- what's cool, is that with this method, you can even change the background color of the cell with an onMouseOver and onMouseOut event, and it gives the link a very nice effect.

good luck! :)
