Hi All,

Does anybody know how to get round the problem of ID & class references not working in IE4 ? And I dont mean stick the style/CSS properties in the tag itself!

I have never had a copy of IE4 before and am shocked to think what some of my other sites look like. Sticking the style/CSS properties in each tag will take decades to do, so i need a better solution.

Thanks to whoever can help. Chris MacPherson

could you please detail your problem ? i never noticed such problem using ie4 and css ?

Hi there,

I fixed the problem but can probably show you what it was. Set up a stylesheet using a <link rel...> tag in your <head>
section.

In this stylesheet stick a comment. I read somewhere that you could use C style /**comments**/ in your stylesheet, so I was using them. They work in all other browsers apart from IE4. I think either of /** **/ and <!-- --> will mess up your page.

That had me really annoyed and confused for weeks!! I'm always looking out for people with the same problem just in case.
