IE wont retrieve page

I have a ME computer running IE 6. TCP/IP works fine, I have an IP,DNS and I can ping the router. No matter what I do I cant get IE to retrieve any pages. Whats worse is that when I conect to AOL through a dial-up, AOL works fine but I cant surf the web through AOL either...

I tried reconfiguring all IE settings and ME Network settings, no matter what I do I cant get the internet..

Any ideas.. I tried everything

I have questions: Are you running a firewall? Have you checked your system for SPYWARE? Have updated IE6 with sp1?
I have seen this problem with firewalls set to strong. I have also seen it with spyware running in the background.
I would tell you go get all of the updates for you Windows OS and try it again. Clear all spyware, check your firewall settings, and scan you system for VIRUSES.
