Hi,

Somehow the boss has tried to paste a shortcut on his desktop to a webpage.

Instead he's ended up with a strange ie webpage on his desktop (although it says page cannot be displayed - url was wrong)

the window has no 'x' to close it, i cannot edit the target.

I've deleted the item from the docuemtns/settings->desktop folder but it is still there.

I've played with themese and wallpapers nothing will make it go away.

any ideas

open the control panel and select Display

click Customise desktop, from the tabs select Web and make sure that everything is unticked or even removed from the list.
