Im using windows xp sp1(all updates installed) and IE ver. 6 with all the updates installed . I recently trying to view mt course materials from microsoft and i cant open the default htm file. when i try to click the file a message appears that the page is optimized for ie 4 or higher and wanted me to update. Why would i update my ie? when i tried to click ok from the message it directs me to the website of ie downloads and wanted me to download ver 5.5. What shall i do? i desperately need to open the files coz i need to study for my exams.

It sounds as if the installation of IE6 has somehow gone awry. Are you able to 'repair' IE6 from the control panel?

i dont thinks its the installation coz i tried it whit my laptop with windows xp and same version of ie 6 and its still not working. I tried using different browswer. On netscape 7.1 i can let the opening screen appears but no buttons appear. when i tried using msn explorer same happens but when i tried opening it in school it works ok. Is there a setting in the browswer options that i should set like hide or show something to make the back ack and forward buttons appear? I dont mean the back and forward buttons on the browser itself but the tutorial that in opening. Thanks
