IE Shortcut doesn't work

When I click on the IE Shortcut either on the desktop, quick launch or in the program menu it doesn't work. I can open Internet Explorer by clicking on a short cut of a favorite that I have created on the desktop but not open the shortcut itself. I have tried going to options desktop customized and andding the IE Shortcut to the desktop and removing it and restarting the computer and resetting the internet options and nothing seem to help.

Any ideas?

What happens if you go Start->Run->iexplore

Samething happens when I go Start->Run->ieplore the hour glass comes up briefly.

Did you follow any of the spyware removal suggestions given in your other threads about the same problem?

Are you getting any error messages when you are trying to open it and it doesn't respond?

I would try and use the IEFix utility:

windowsxp.mvps.org/IEFIX.htm

If that doesn't work, try uninstalling IE from the Add/Remove Programs under Control Panel and then reinstalling it and updating it to hilt.
