IE: Send page by E-mail

Here's the scenario, Im opening up documents(doc, rtf, tif) in my web application using Internet Explorer. When i go to File->Send->Page by E-mail, it works fine with word documents, it creates a new email message with the attached word document. The problem is when the document type is rtf or tif, It attaches the file, but without the file extension. how can I resolve this issue?
