Hi all,

I have a problem with using the scroll bar on IE 5.00 and NT4.0 SP6. If I click the up or down arrow on the scroll bar, the page will scroll a predefined number of lines (5) very slowly. If I hold the up or down arrow for longer than 1/2 second, the arrow becomes stuck down and the page will scroll all the way tot he top or bottom. If I use the slider, the page reacts like it is connected by a spring and will scroll as I move the mouse up or down, but also suffer from some settling (up and down). I can quickly whip the slider up and down and then let go and watch my webpage continue to scroll up and down and eventually settle.
BTW: this behavior is similar if using the mouse wheel.
The PC was completely re-imaged and I first upgraded to IE6.0 and then uninstalled IE6.0 because I thought this was a new feature that I did not like. I do not experience this problem in any other program I use on this machine. I think it is a setting, but I cannot find any such setting. Any help would be greatly appreciated as I use IE extensively for reviewing online technical documentation.

Have you set 'Use smooth scrolling' in Internet Options, Advanced ?
