Is there a feature within IE (any version of the browser but preferrably 6.0) that allows you disable "automatic fill in"? Example: Going to Google.com and searching for Windows XP. If I've been to Google previously and searched for another topic beginning with the letter "w", the drop down gives me everything that begins the letter "w". Another example is going to mapquest.com. I often use my home address as the starting point and when I type in the first number, it automatically assumes that I'm going to put in my address and gives me a drop down list with it. Is there a way to disable this? I went to Tools/Internet Options/Advanced but didn't see anything (or maybe I've missed what I'm looking for).

1. Look under the "Content" tab to modify autocomplete.
2. Occasionally empty the stored autofill entries:

. for Google, install the Google toolbar and then click on the Word Google at the far left, select Clear search history.

. for IE, clear your temporary internet files and your history. Then visit this site for instructions on removing typed URLs:
