I have had several users complain about the following issues with active scripting. The fix has been to replace the NIC, however that has always been in older computers. This user is having the problem with a new computer.

Any ideas.

I have been having trouble with my internet browser ever since I got my new computer. I have to change the "security settings" back and forth to perform very basic functions, and many things I can't do at all. For example, to fill out my timesheet I have to enable Active Scripting, but to look up references (DOE, EPA, etc.) I have to disable the same feature.

Your assistance is appreciated.

I'd go and sit with that user to make sure it's not PICNIC syndrome.

I say this because most users are notoriously bad at giving accurate descriptions - and I speak from experience on this one ("No - I didn't click log out". "Yes you did". "No, that was in another tab". *doh*).

This isn't the case. We have sat with the user. Typically this problem has manifested itself in several ways. In this case the user did not start having a problem till they got a new computer.

My first inclination is to reset all zones back to their default settings. Then if the problem still exists, consider what third-party security software might be having an effect.
