I recently installed the linksys 2.4 GHz Broadband router 802.11b.
the problem I am having is that IE will not find any pages since I installed this. I have a second computer hooked up to the wireless, and IE works ok on that.
the computer that it doesn't work on is the main computer and a Compaq desktop. The one that does work is a Dell Presario.
I'm afraid I cannot find anything helpful on this matter. has anyone had this problem, and can you find a cure for me?
Thanks,

Can you verify that your PC is actually receiving an IP address from the router? Click start/run/type cmd/press enter, then type ipconfig and press enter. Look for the information relevant to your wireless card and see what it's IP address is. If it says 0.0.0.0 or something beginning with 169, that's where to begin troubleshooting.

I tried both of your suggestions, but alas, nothing seems to make it work. Just to give you some more details, I have Win98 on the pc and I am able to make Netscape work ok, it is just IE that won't connect to the internet on the main computer.
The IPconfig and it seems to be compatible with the card.
I do also have DSL on the main computer, and i am tied into that modem with the wireless router.

Still lost, and could still use some more suggestions.

Comparethe proxy settings for both browsers. It sounds like one is trying to use a proxy and one isn't. Whichever one is working, use the same settings for the other.

Thank you Tarwn, for your input which solved the problem, infact, thank all of you who have given your ideas in helping me to try to figure out the problem.

The actual problem was the Proxy. I went into IE internet options, clicked on the connection tab, then went into LAN settings, and found that their was a check mark in the Proxy setting, which did prevent IE from being used. As soon as I unchecked it, IE immediately began working.
I hope this will help everyone that is having problems with IE connections.

Thanks,
