IE launching another window when downloading file

I'm having a problem where I'm getting pictures sent to me via hotmail. When I go to download them, the are being opened in another IE window. I simply want to download them to my PC and NOT view them in IE. Having trouble correcting it. Does anyone have suggestions? Thanks!

under Options - Mail Format - Internet Format
click the first box to ". . .send a copy of the picture instead of a reference to their location

EYEC...not quite sure where you are directing me. Didn't see anything in IE or hotmail to fit that description.

are you also using Hotmail (web-based) or or you recv them via Outlook or OE?

I am using web-based hotmail account.
