IE jumping to Outlook and vice versa

Internet Explorer versions 6 and 7 seem to jump back and forth between Outlook, version 2003 on several workstations here. Happens randomly while users are working.

Just started recently. Seems to happen when users are logged into CRM software via IE. I seem to notice the page refreshing quite often and was thinking that could be the culprit but it doesn't do the program swap from IE-->Outlook and Outlook-->IE on my machine.

Checked event logs and nothing shows.

Done tons of searching but can't find anything relevant to the problem we're having.

I would go back to the people who made the CRM Software and ask them for Support. Or if this package is made in house ask the developers to take a look and give them an example of a person who is having the issue.
