IE issue with URL requiring http fore domain name? 1

Hi I have a computer that requires me to type

http://www

before any domain name. I can not jsut type

http://www.yahoo.com

Has anyone heard of this?

I ran spyware programs and antivirus. Also restored Ie to defaults. I am doing windows updates now.

Thanks for the quick response. this did not fix the issue. when I do pull downs on any menu it takes up to 2 minutes to show drives. I am going to reimage, much easier then messing around. Thanks
