IE Homepage Lock!!!

Hi, I am Running WinXP Pro + SP1 and I am having a big problem with IE. Almost EVERY friggen webpage i visit is able to change my Homepage so whenever I start IE I have either Porn or Stupid Search sites or bloody free giveaway shit to deal with!!! How do I stop these pages from Changing my homepage? I can edit the Registry or something can't I? PLEASE Help me out b/c this is Driving me Nuts!
