Some type of corruption has occurred on our Windows 2003 server. Nearly all the native system programs try to open with Wordpad. Apparently, a single server-based program's executable became corrupt and tried to associate with Adobe Acrobat. In repairing that program, the corruption has now extended to Control Panel programs, antivirus program, Internet Explorer, etc. Nearly every program on the server.

Has anyone ever heard of this? Have any clue what to do? I have not been able to find anything about this in the MS knowledgebase.

Try using RegClean to clean the registry, otherwise you may need to reassociate files with the proper application.

I hope you find this post helpful.

Regards,

Mark
